 About Us    

The role of the  National Safeguarding Co-ordinator for the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland and SCSS includes:

  • continuing  development of  safeguarding policies and procedures;
  • the co-ordination and  development of a system of standards in safe recruitment including criminal record checking;
  • working professionally alongside  the members of the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Groups to ensure that national policy is implemented;
  • to both facilitate and provide training for  all clergy,  parish safeguarding co-ordinators  and volunteers;   
  • the development of  resources relating to the safeguarding of everyone;
  • providing support, advice and guidance when safeguarding issues arise;    
  • work professionally with other faith groups, statutory bodies and voluntary organisations.
